Business electricity and gas

We compare contracts from major UK energy suppliers, explain the options, and manage the switch so you can get on with running your business.

What we can help with

Whether you run a single shop or several sites, we look at your usage and contract dates and find options that fit.

Electricity contracts

Fixed and flexible business electricity, for standard meters through to larger supplies.

Gas contracts

Business gas on its own, or alongside electricity with the same supplier.

Renewals

Out-of-contract and deemed rates are usually high. We help you secure a new deal before your contract ends.

Multi-site businesses

Several premises? We line up contract dates and manage every meter in one place.

Half-hourly supplies

Larger users with half-hourly meters get quotes that reflect when they actually use energy.

Renewable options

Many suppliers offer tariffs backed by renewable generation. Ask us what's available for your business.

What to have ready

  • A recent billIdeally dated within the last three months, showing your address and supply numbers.
  • Your supply numbersThe MPAN for electricity and MPRN for gas. Both are printed on your bill.
  • Your contract end dateIf you don't know it, we can find out for you with a letter of authority.
  • Proof of businessBusiness rates documents or a recent bill showing VAT at 20%.

How we are paid

We don't charge you a fee for quotes. If you choose a contract through us, the supplier pays us a commission that is built into your unit rate.

For example, if your unit price is 30.00p per kWh and our uplift is 1p, you would pay 31.00p per kWh, and the supplier passes that 1p to us.

Read all FAQs

What is a supply number?

A supply number is a specific piece of information that relates to your site which identifies your address, meter type, and helps to get accurate quotations. This can be obtained from your current supplier or alternatively it is generally located on a bill.

How long does it take to transfer?

For customers out of contract, an application generally takes between 4–6 weeks as per the standard transfer process. Please be advised that further delays may occur if your supplier objects to the transfer. If you are still in a contract, supply will commence a day after your contract expires.

Will I be charged a termination fee?

A new contract can be agreed 90–180 days prior to the end of your existing one. If you opt to leave before this, you may be subject to an early termination fee. The amount will depend on the length of time you have left on your current contract.

You are under no obligation to pay such fees, as you will be provided with the option to remain with your current supplier. If there is no contract in place, there may be no termination fee. We strongly advise that you correspond with your standing supplier for clarification on the matter. Please note the early termination facility is not offered by all suppliers.

What if my business has a domestic meter?

Many businesses do often have a domestic meter. This can easily be identified by the supply number on your bill, as it will begin either 01 or 02. If you have a domestic meter and you are a business, we can still transfer you onto a business contract, subject to proof of business being provided.
