How we get paid by energy suppliers

We may receive a commission payment from a supplier for introducing you to them. This may be paid wholly upfront or as a monthly residual. The commission is built into your final unit rate(s) via an uplift which you pay to your supplier; the supplier then pays the uplift to us.

As an example, if your unit price is 30.00p per kWh, we can potentially add between 0.1p and 2.0p for our uplift. If the uplift was 1p, the final unit price you pay would be 31.00p per kWh, 1p of which the supplier will pay to us for every unit consumed.

If you would like to know the commission included in a quote we give you, just ask and we will tell you before you sign.

Card machines, water and insurance

Where we introduce you to a payment provider, water retailer or authorised insurance firm, that provider may pay us a fee or commission for the introduction. This does not add a separate charge to your bill from us. Ask us and we will tell you whether we receive a payment before you proceed.
